MOHLATSI FARM

Mohlatsi Farm is an agricultural company based in Hoedspruit in the subtropical Lowveld of South Africa. We are one of largest privately-owned mango producing farms in South Africa and foster some of the highest yielding orchards in the World.

 

We take pride in the quality of our produce and also find gratification in our contribution towards job creation and people’s skills development and upliftment of our human resources. A visit to the farm will present our authentic, sustainable, working farm with the dedication towards being unique and creating memorable moments.         

ABOUT

THE FARM

The farm comprises 355 hectares of arable land of which more than 200 hectares are cultivated with mango, citrus and avocados. In total more than 185000 trees have been planted on the 200 hectares. We specialize in the production, packing, marketing and processing of mangoes, avocados, mandarins, lemons and oranges. Our adoption of innovative farming practises embodies our commitment towards farming in an environmental and financial sustainable manner.

PRODUCTS

MANGOES

Mohlatsi Farm’s mangoes are renowned for quality and shelf-life that exceed consumer expectations. The sandy soils and warm days of our production region benefits the production of mangoes with exceptional external colour and a high sugar content.

OUR

MANGO CULTIVARS

Tommy Atkins is an early ripening Florida cultivar with bright red blush and mild mango aroma. Fruit is harvested between the months of December and January.


Princess is a late ripening South African cultivar named after the Late Princess Diana. Fruit is harvested in March and have a very sweet and pleasant mango flavour.


Keitt is a late ripening Florida cultivar with green skin and slightly orange blush. Fruit is harvested in March and have a slightly nutty flavour.


Sensation is a mid to late season cultivar with an exceptional pineapple flavoured taste. The fruit has a marvellous red blush with bright yellow background colour when ripe and is harvested February to early march.


Shelly is one of our exciting new cultivars that originated from Israel. It is mid-season cultivar with a brilliant bright red blush when ripe. The sweet mango taste is exceptional and eating a Shelly mango in January is a memorable experience.   


Lormey is the flagship cultivar of Mohlatsi Farm. The cultivar was developed on Mohlatsi Farm and is a mid to late season variety. The fruit has an extraordinary taste and gives the idea of having an ice-cold piña colada with a dash of peach fruit. The fruit is harvested early February and the shelf-life is exceptional. The name originates from the combination of the name of the Farm and the sons of the breeder i.e. Louis and Morné Fivaz. 

OTHER MOHLATSI

PRODUCTS

Lemons:
Mohlatsi Farm’s Eureka lemons are harvested between December and February and are exported to the EU and Middle East.

 
Oranges:
Mohlatsi Farm has established 12 hectares of “Gusacora” oranges in 2021 and we are awaiting our first crop to be exported to the EU and Middle East in the coming season.

  
Mandarins:
Mandarins have been planted mid-2021 and Mohlatsi Farm will be harvesting the first “Nadorcott LS” crop in July 2024.   


Nursery:
Our principal operation is the grafting of mango trees of all the commercial cultivars available in South Africa. The nursery can produce between 20000 to 30000 trees per annum. Trees are not only sold locally but are also exported to Angola, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Sudan and Egypt.
