TOMMY ATKINS

ORIGIN
Tommy Atkins is a mono-embryonic seedling of Haden planted in 1922 in Broward Country, Florida.

TREE
Vigorous, somewhat open canopy. Trees showing a somewhat upright growth habit.

FRUIT
Eating quality:
Fair to good.

SHAPE
Oval to oblong. Base broadly rounded. Stem inserted in a slightly raised manner. Apex rounded with a small lateral beak.

SIZE
Average fruit size is approximately 450 – 700g.

SKIN
Red and yellow ground colour when ripe. Numerous white dots. Skin thick.

FLESH
Firm and medium juicy. Deep yellow flesh with mild flavour. Medium fiber in flesh.

SHELF-LIFE

Good shelf-life.

KEITT

ORIGIN
Keitt is a mono-embryonic seedling of Mulgoba planted in 1939 on the property of Mrs. J.N. Keitt, Homestead, Florida.

TREE
Vigorous, open canopy. Trees showing a spreading growth habit.

FRUIT
Eating quality:
Good to Excellent

SHAPE
Oblong to oval. Base rounded. Stem inserted slightly. Apex rounded with no beak. Surface smooth.

SIZE
Average fruit size is approximately 500 – 950g.

SKIN
Green to orange ground colour when ripe. Numerous small yellow or white dots. Skin thick, tough and adherent.

FLESH
Firm and juicy lemon yellow flesh. Sweet and mild flavour.. Little fibre in flesh.

SHELF-LIFE
Excellent.

SENSATION

ORIGIN
Sensation is a mono-embryonic seedling of ccccc planted in 19cc on the property of ccccc, Florida.

TREE
Vigorous, moderately dense canopy. Symmetrical canopy. Tends to be semi-dwarfing.

FRUIT
Eating quality:
Fair to Good.

SHAPE
Oval. Base rounded. Stem inserted slightly. Apex rounded with a small beak. Surface undulating.

SIZE
Average fruit size is approximately 250 – 380g.

SKIN
Red to purple blush. Bright red to yellow ground colour when ripe. Skin medium thick and easily separating.

FLESH
Firm and juicy lemon yellow flesh. Mild flavour. No fibre in flesh.

SHELF-LIFE
Average to Good.

Kent is a mono-embryonic seedling of Brooks planted in 1932 at the property of Mr. Leith D. Kent, Coconut Grove, Florida.

TREE
Vigorous, somewhat open canopy. Trees showing a somewhat upright growth habit.

FRUIT
Eating quality:
Excellent

SHAPE
Oval. Base rounded. Stem inserted slightly. Apex rounded with no beak.
Surface smooth.

SIZE
Average fruit size is approximately 450 – 750g.

Red and orange ground colour when ripe. Numerous small yellow dots. Skin thick, tough and adherent.

Tender, melting and juicy. Deep orange-yellow flesh with rich flavour. Little fiber in flesh.
